Job Description

# Work in all phases of development cycle including: participating in detailed design, implementation, unit testing, bug tracking, and deployment of Data Warehousing projects.
# Work with a team of QA Engineers. Work with them to test multiple projects including ETL, Reporting and Application development.
# Own the creation and ongoing maintenance of test process documentation and test plans.
# Own the overall defect tracking process, by which defects are prioritized and scheduled for resolution, including preparation of reports that summarize overall project status for review by the team
# Work with the development team to create test data that fully exercises data validation and actual ETL functionality.
# Write SQL queries to validate that actual test results match expected results.
# Identify and log defects if/ when a test fails, if necessary, using SQL to narrow down the root cause of the problem for efficient investigation by the development team
# Coordinate with the ETL and MicroStrategy architects on the build promotion process from Development to QA to Production environments
# Participate in stress testing activities, in collaboration with the development teams, to ensure satisfactory performance of both ETL processing and end-user reporting.
Candidate Profile

* 7+ years of experience in software design and development methodologies.
* 5+ years of experience with one or more of the following databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Teradata.
* 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following Business Intelligence tools: MicroStrategy, Cognos, Business Objects.
* Experience in architecting and developing data warehouse, data marts and dimensional data models.
* Strong SQL skills and analysis skills are a must.
* Experience with Unix Shell Scripting is desirable.
* Experience with Multinational software development organizations in India or overseas is desirable.
